It is indeed true - That was one fantastic performance by the All Blacks. Brilliant.

Oh well, consolation is that the Lions were a whole lot better than the first game, but no team in the world would have beaten NZ on that performance. Hopefully they will be more sporting in the third test and give the Lions a chance?

Actually looking forward to tonight's game - Lions v Auckland. The Auckland team is full of wannabe All Blacks keen to press for a place in the Tri-Nations squad and the Lions will be desperate to not lose a provincial game so it should be an interesting match.

The third test will be interesting because we'll have to field a whole new backline without Carter and Mauger. So it will be a big test of how much depth we really have in key positions.

Cool - third test tonight. Plenty of injury-forced changes to the All Blacks so maybe this will be a closer contest. No doubt the Lions will be putting enormous pressure on young Luke McAlister.

PS first time trying to reply to my own post!

I can't wait for the Ashes now. Maybe England does have a chance after all. Not sure what is going wrong with the Aussies. Perhaps they're all a bit too old (like some of the Lions).

Not sure I like the new rules in the one dayers though.

What new rules in the one dayers? Been following the rugby so much, I've completely forgotten about cricket.

While I'm here, well done to the All Blacks as well - can't wait for the Tri-Nations.

Instead of fielding restrictions in the first 15 overs - like it used to be - it will now be the first 10. Then, another two sets of 5 overs with fielding restrictions, which the fielding captain can choose to use any time. There are called 'power-plays'.

Plus, there is now a 'super-sub' available. A 12th player that the captain can choose to use at any time. I.e. if you're batting first, you might choose to have another specialist batsman and drop one of your bowling tail-enders to sub, then put your bowler back on when it's your turn to field. That kind of thing.

Yeah, but isn't that substitution rule a bit silly in that there is really no surprise as to how you will use it (i.e an extra bowler when fielding and an extra batsman when batting)? Where is the added suspense and interest in that?

Also, back on topic, go the All Blacks. It's been a shame that the games weren't any closer, but the ABs played really well. They were even down to 14 men for 1/4 of the game and still cleaned up. I see that Sir Clive reckons that he should have brought even more players! Crazy stuff. He also said that the 3-0 series result didn't really mean much. Huh? What was the point of coming if it doesn't mean much?

On another note, the Lions supporters have been awesome. They've added colour and passion to all the cities they have visited and have been fantastic guests. Auckland was going off last week with all the British fans partying and having a genuine good time. Maybe the British soccer fans could take a leaf out of the books of their rugby watching counterparts.

I think the main worry is that whoever wins the toss is extremely likely to win. They will basically be getting an extra batsman for nothing. See what I mean? I think the rule needs addressing.

Hmmm this substitution rule seems a bit unfair. They should definitely tweak it.
