    I killed the Shadow Dragon with a party full of 8-10 level PC. I am not using any NPC's this time through. I am on my way to kill the Big Red Nasty now. My party is currently levels 9, 10, and 11. By the time I get through the dungeon to him some of the party might increase but most won't. A friend and I killed him once when our party was about level 11 and 12. I WANT THE SWORD . . . HAND IT OVER NOW!!!

    The Big Red Machine is DEAD and I have the SWORD OF SWORDS. I had to reloaded two times. I did it with the following party (All PCs):

    Archer lvl 9 R.Enemy Beholder
    Kensai lvl 10
    Cavalier lvl 9
    Preist of Lathander lvl 10
    Illusionist lvl 11
    Mage/Thief M/C lvl 10/11

    Nobody died (the third time). :) Just buff up, summon elementals, lower THE BIG RED's resistances, and let him have it.

    The big red? Is that Firkraag? My proudest achievement is beating him with Korgan on his own...with Crom Fayer...and a +3 axe...and three different fire protections putting him up to over 100% ....and hasted...and chanted...and enraged...and at a really high level...and using loads of healing potions...hmmmmmm... maybe it's not that impressive at all.

    The dragons seem to be very tricky in this game , I have to reload twice to kill the shadow dragon, when I went to fight the red dragon , I buffed up on protection and the usual , and he totally killed (permanently) 5 of my six pc's, so no hope of resurrection there. The second time I tried I did the same , just altered the sequence in which I cast the protection spells and cast one lower resisance at him in battle and suddenly he was dead. Must have been the 60 magic missiles (3 magic users 5 MM each times 4 spells each) I pumped into its scaly hide. Have to lower resistance other wise is immune.

    [​IMG] Tricky ? My good Sir, in BG2 Dragons -ànd the various Fiends ànd Liches ànd Illithid ànd Beholders- are not a shade of what they're supposed to be. Just read the Monstrous Manual-descriptions of Dragons and sigh relieved as you compare with the whussies they've made out of them in BG2!

    On the other hand, you and your group don't have the power you should have either, so at the end it's probably more or less fair.
