Cool web site, I would love to even visit one if I ever had the chance
On a side note I just made up a joke after reading the Gene Hackman death. "Did you hear about how he died? "Neither did he"

That's pretty much what I was trying to convey. It's quite common with historical buildings here in America as well. They go up for sale and remain for sale for years because of the cost of renovations and the restrictions on what use they can be put to or what changes can be made.

So I'm planning on having cauliflower and watermelon with dinner.
Does that make it a melancholy dinner?

Nah, I had chicken drumsticks, cauliflower, and corn on the cob.
Then a few slices of watermelon for dessert since I'm trying to lay off the sweets.
ALL of that except the watermelon was cooked on the Weber grill because Chicago is undergoing a heat wave reminding me of '95.
Tomorrow I have to goto the Magnificent Mile and am probably going to take public transportation due to a lack of parking, construction on the Kennedy and all alternates from the NW suburbs, and the few parking garages in the area being blocks away and costing $35 to park where it will cost $11 for a round-trip Metra ticket to Ogilvie and $5 for an all-system all-day CTA bus/El pass. The heat is going to be brutal.

The question is, I'm going to be 3 blocks from what has been consistently rated one of the top 10 deep dish pizza joints for the last 50 years and I probably won't feel like cooking because of the heat. Should I spend $40 treating myself on the best pizza I've ever tried?
I used to work for over a year as a field service tech installing P.O.S. systems in pizzerias so I got to sample a lot of pizza, but I'd only expect to spend $22-25 for pizza where I live, but when I tried that place under similar circumstances last year the bill arrived for $40.
