    While at first impression the snow seemed nice it's now causing me some trouble. While it certainly creates a festive wintery atmosphere reading longer posts has become a pain. I can't help but get distracted whenever a snowflake falls over the spot I'm reading that very moment. It gets quite difficult to read through longer posts because of this without getting distracted. It makes reading longer alley posts difficult. Or perhaps this is some sneaky way of telling me that Christmas is getting here and I should be thinking of more merry things than the financial meltdown or Mumbai bombings? Are there others who find reading troublesome while it's snowing or is it just me?

    I'm with Morgoroth on that one. I'm all for Christmas decorations as they are harmless and can be construed as a hope for peace or at least truce in troubled times (being a bit of an optimist right now) but truthfully the snow is a pain. What would be grand would be to have snowflakes on the main page of the forum and not on the others. Any hope for that Taluntain?

    Unfortunately yes, the snow can cause lag depending on the computer hardware/software or available system resources. If anyone's having problems with it, just scroll to the bottom of the boards and in the left corner pick a forum style that works best for you.

    The default "BoM" has snow everywhere, while the two child styles only have snow on forum home or no snow at all.

    The snow's a nice touch, and I haven't experienced any lag, even though my wee Asus only has 512 MB RAM. Of course, it doesn't run obsolete, bloated Windows or Internet Exploder, so that probably helps. It's about the only thing (other than the chocolate advent calendar my girlfriend gave me) that's made me feel christmassy in ages! Sad, I know. :shake:

    The snow is cool. It never snows where I live. Especially at Christmas, where the days are long and sunny. Paradise.

    Not sure how some of you are getting lag from a bit of snow. I thought most of you guys had souped-up mega-rigs that could power a small town - at least that's what you seem to show off about in those techno threads.

    Thanks Tal, I didn't notice that feature.

    No lag, but reading was painful, the snow was freaking me out, got enough of it as it is. Feels much better now. :)
