    With topics like this, I don't understand how they can say that English doesn't have different dialects. There is UK-English, American English, South African English which I assume uses even more different spellings based on the time that somehow Open Office Writer got set to that country after an upgrade on my then Vista machine (hasn't happened with Windows 7 and didn't happen with XP on the same upgrade but a different computer) and kept underlining properly spelled words.

    Then there are the regional differences such in America as a southern accent, a New York accent, a mid-western accent, and an inner-city low-income neighborhood accent that a suburbanite can clearly distinguish from somebody who lives around in a more affluent area of Chicago or a suburb.
