    The fire giant is hidden behind the tower that the wizard is standing near. You can't target him, but if you set all your characters to attacking scripts they'll kill the giant automatically.

    Returning weapons sure come handy there.

    Also, fireballs never come if there are no more soldiers on the wall. And soldiers come only if you come close enough to the stairs to see the barracks with your chars. Then a few soldiers appear, stride up the stairs and get baked. But if you keep the two barracks under each stair alone (out of character's sight) there wont be any fireballs.

    But it seems damn friggin' effective.
    still, you're a genius for even thinking of it. I never thought it up, but hey, I never found it necessary ;)

    You might want to head over to MC's other thread on cheesy (brilliant being my choice of adjective here) spell combo threads...I've been putting up my other combos from my FAQ there, along with some other useful spell casting tips I've found to be effective in my BG2 playing experience.
