    Only steel-reinforced dwarven pants give an ac bonus. These ones appear to be mere cotton. Dwarven underpants of steel also provide immunity to arse-kicking :)

Anyway, it seemed like a good idea to remove the cause of the offence (me) but it seems like this has caused more trouble than it solved. Sorry everyone - I suppose I'm just a pillock.
