Do poor scores (below 10) affect you at all in the game? I'm talking characters that don't need high scores such as mage and cleric. I'm not concerned with lore because I have a Bard :)

I have not seen wisdom affect anything -- in the manual it states low wisdom will affect magic saves but I haven't seen any affect. Intelligence affects conversations of the lead character -- if the character isn't talking it really doesn't matter what the stat is.

Not that i know of, besides some of the earlier mentioned conversation options requiring a high enough int/cha score, for example, to convince Jeb the fisherman in easthaven to stop drinking so much you'll need a high intelligence score to get the conversation option in the first place, and a high charisma score to actually succeed in convincing him.
However, in most cases you get to decide which character initiates conversation so you can just have one party face to handle all the dialogue, and ignore the int/wis/cha stats entirely on your other characters.

For my own current playthrough of IWD i have a jester as my party face with 18 in both intelligence and charisma. (had quite a good roll, his full stats are 16 str/16 dex/16 con/18 int/10 wis/18 cha)
I've had no problems missing out on content so far - though in some cases a conversation is initiated right after an area change, with the character chosen automatically being the one closest to the speaker, meaning you might have to shift your party face into another position just so he's the one that gets addressed.
