    I've been an active member for a few years (2-3 or so iirc) then fell into the pitfall that is WoW, also for a few years and now i'm back again. Hopefully for a while.

    The biggest excuse for inactive member cullings would probably be that they in large majority forget they even registered or don't bother reclaiming password if they do... all supposing they ever return.

    First positive thing that comes to mind with it - freeing up usernames.
    Granted, we don't want more legolas whelps, but i for one would certainly remove the weird dot at the end of my name, had there not been a guy in '00 that came, asked a question, made 2 posts total and was heard from again that has it.

    Given your specific situation, I wouldn't mind changing that other guy's username so you could get rid of the bullet. Though you could change it to anything else that's available as well. Shoot me a PM on what you decide.
