That should be an easy thing to do. (just remove the berserk ability. I'm not going to put points in ranged weapons anyway). Sikret, does glitterdust reveal invisible enemies in IA, or is thief detect illusion the only method. Also, can a thief with UAI use the new npc exclusive items?

[edit] Some feature/bugs update. Firstly, my thief with 102 in pickpocket was unable to steal anything from shops! If it indeed has been disabled by IA, those of you who use the steal/resell trick might have problems. i usually dont use it myself, but the new item upgrades cost a bomb. Secondly, take a look at this screenshot.

    http://img335.imageshack.us/img335/1531/minscdeathnk5.jpg

I have absolutely no idea what happened there.

    http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/496/errorhl3.png

And a spelling error. Yes yes I'm nit-picking... 'Gloves' spelt wrongly as well

Glitter dust can also reveal invisible mages who are also under the effect of Immunity: Divination, but the target is entitled to roll a saving throw vs. spell to avoid turning visible.

I guess, thieves with UAI will be able to use NPCs' specific items, provided that they qualify the stat restrictions (I have not tried it in practice). Nonetheless, I see this as an extremely cheesy thing to do. (Were you thinking of Valygar's katana?)

IA has not modified stealing items from the shops. 102 in pickpocket is not so good. Try to increase it to more than 200 and you will do what you want.

My browser failed to open the links to the screenshots. Please explain the problems.

    Yeap. That katana is sweeeeet.

Its hard to explain. Minsc was shooting at a cleric of cyric, who puts up a sanctuary. Suddenly the dialogue appears.

Priest of Cyric did 18 dmg to Minsc

This occurs 9 times in a row, with dmg ranging from 13-18. This was the priest you meet in the slaver's ship (the group when you emerge from sewers). minsc dies instantly. I can pm or email you the pic

The second screenshot is just 2 spelling errors that occurs in the dialogue for forging the Ring of Burglary.

The priest has physical mirror which reflects missiles. Minsc had been subject to his own missiles' damage. I checked the priest's script and every thing was correct.

Thanks for reporting the typos in Cromwell's dialogue. The item was forged correctly, however, eh?

Going by the screenshot, it reads:
'Gloves', 'Pocketing' and 'pieces' have typos and 'ye' should be a capital as it starts the sentence.

Thanks, Decados! The typos will be fixed for the next version of the mod. I wonder how I have typed so many miss-spelled words in one single paragraph! :coffee2:

But shouldnt it be, Minsc shoots one arrow, and takes dmg one time? In this case, Minsc had been firing arrows all along and took no dmg, but suddenly a boatload of dmg hits him. And that was AFTER sanctuary went up, when Minsc should be unable to attack the priest.

I cant forge the item yet actually. Was just scrolling through the dialogue options.

[edit] Sikret, may i suggest toning down the potion of elven leagacy. The xp boost is insane, and makes my PC so powerful its hardly fun anymore...

Two levels on fighter class and 1 (and a half) level on mage class are too much? I think you will still have a hard time reaching an appropriate level to cast 8th level spells and perhaps you will never cast 9th level spells (even till the end of TOB) even with the boosted XP.

Triple class characters progress so slowly that it is really frustrating playing with them. The potion was designed to encourage players to play triple class characters.

In the current version of the mod, the potion is usable by f/m/t and f/m/c, but perhaps I will change its usability to be usable by f/m/c only. This should be a good change, because f/m/c is currently even less popular than f/m/t and it's perhaps a good idea to encourage players to prefer it over f/m/t (at least if they want to use the potion).

    Thanks for the feedback.

Its not the levels that are overpowered. Its the HLA. The potion essentially gives HALF the xp needed to reach your first HLA, and dont forget that triple class characters gain the most HLAs.

Yes, as I said, I think the compromise is to let the potion be usable only by f/m/c. Having HLAs will be compensated by the shoddy and slow progress in levels and with not being abale to cast high level spells. Mage and Cleric HLAs require high level caster to use them. You can't choose and cast quest level spells with a low level PC even if you are allowed to have HLAs. Only the warrior HLAs will be usable in practice.

Still, your suggestion of letting only f/m/c use the potion is better. A f/m/t with UAI and GWW in underdark is a monster...

Send me (via PM) the detailed report of your battle with the Balor in Deep Gnomes' village in underdark. (Don't send detailed reports here in the forum. Sending general and non-detailed hints without spoiling unnecessary information to the public forum are welcome and don't have any problem, of course.)

Some players have found this particular battle a difficult one, though we (thetruth and I) have won the battle in our tests with some tactics even with a relatively low/mid level party (and without using any cheesy methods).

Perhaps we need to have more than one or two entries for this particular battle in the mod's walkthrough.

PS: Did you change you nickname? I was getting accustomed with the previous one. Why did you change it?

Am yet to reach the Balor. I have a paper to finish, so progress will be slow for the next few days. Will pm you when I do. Yup changed my nickname. Bored with the old one^^.

[edit] the un-nerfed progression tables you recommanded installed makes blades very powerful...they can get up to lvl 8 spells. Imagine a lvl 40 blade casting a horrid wilting!

Well, I recommended that component of EoU particularly for the corrected THAC0 tables; though even after installing it, some creatures still had incorrect THAC0s which I corrected in IA. More such inaccuracies have been recently discovered in the original game which will be fixed in IA v4.0 (which will be released within about two months from now.)

For the progress report of IA v4.0, revisit this topic frequently.

Yes but it seems that the un-nerfed tables had some unexpected results. For example, f/m/t and blades were rather evenly matched. But now blades have far more potent spells, and they can cast them more often. Even with the elven legacy potion, f/m/t still falls behind. A blade with 4 million xp has around 5 lvl 7 spells and 1 lvl 8 spells!

Also, you might want to nerf some items, namely boots of improved haste. The old dual vs multi has multi winning because of GWW. Now imagine a 13kensai/mage with impr haste active at all times and grandmastery!

By the time the player can forge Boots of Improved Haste, the party already has access to sixth level spells and can easily pre-buff any warrior with the spell before any battle. I don't think that it's a big deal compared with the enhanced battles the party is going to experience. Nonetheless, I may increase (a bit) the price of forging the boots.

More level 6 slots freed from improved haste means more slots for other spells. Bards = more misleads = more images singing = ownage.

    Anyway, some suggestions.

    1) Limit mislead images to 1. Multiple bard singing exploit is still possible.
    2) As I mentioned before, bards spells progression table is too powerful. Hopefully next version of IA can address this.
    3) Not sure if it has been addressed, but it used to be that haer delis's blade can kill anything through dex drain. You might want to prevent that from happening from major bosses, considering how impr hasted + offensive spin haer' delis has 8 attacks per round.

You mean preventing a misled character from casting additional and multiple mislead spells?
Well, this problem was not caused by Improved Anvil at all. It's a component of EoU that causes this. It's upto players to decide whether they want it or not. I can do nothing for another mod's component.
This issue has been addressed since the very first version of the mod. Haer'Dalis's sword is upgradable. After being upgraded, it won't drain Dexterity anymore, but will instead have other cool abilities.

Yeap I'm aware. But i'm sure most people will prefer killing most monsters in 3 rounds with dex drain then get an extra 3 dex. I would still suggest making major bosses unkillable by dex drain.

[edit] I looked through your items, and realised there was no cleric specific item. Perhaps you could include something in the next release?

Killing major bosses through draining attributes will only stop the progress of the game. The required cutscenes will not trigger and the needed variables will not be set. I have tested this for Melissan, for example. Kill her with attribute drain and you will be stuck in that throne area. The story will not proceed and you will need to reload the game. Hence, it is recommended that players do not try this method for killing bosses.

If you have any specific suggestion for new item upgrade recipes, send them here, please. If I remember correctly, for now, there is at least one item upgrade which is only usable by clerics, mages and druids (i.e. the upgrade for Rod of Smiting).
