I noticed that Icewind Gate mod that converted BG2's game to the IWD2 engine, so I was wondering if it was worth the try seeing what you need to do in order to get the NPCs to join and all of that.

So, anyone tried it and could tell me if it's worth the troubles?

AFAIK, it's dead in the water.

I am well aware the project is discontinued, that's not exactly what I was interested in knowing though.
I simply wish to know if it's worth the try despite the bugs.

From all accounts there were still a whole load of bugs. The use of CLUA for things as mundane as area transition were seen often. A couple of quests also contained game breaking bugs.

Also this thread will soon be moved.

What I meant by dead was uncomplete, not even beta. But no, I haven't tried it.

It is at alpha/beta. The precise term from those two probably doesn't mean much, but I say it in the sense that it's been privately available for a few years and publicly so for, well, probably a few years too now.

If you are looking to play the game through then you'd probably just get frustrated and give up. It is interesting from a technical point of view, though, if you just wanted to fiddle. It was released for this reason - not to suggest it is a finished product.

You'll need to be comfortable with most of the CLUA codes, though, since the converter algorithm doesn't work perfectly and you'll have to manually set some variables/jump some areas to continue with the storyline.

Ah, then I guess I'll just forget it, I would probably get frustrated, especially since I'm not too familiar with CLUA.
