An archer anticipates where the target is heading, and he shoots his arrow slightly before him, so it hits.
The game, however, cannot predict your movement, and the arrow goes straight for you. And if you move, the arrow will follow you.

As Drumheller stated, missiles have been sped up with patch, so the homing is harder to notice. Just be sure to install a patch, and even better, Tales of the Sword Coast, and you will be fine.

Why do you make such a fuss about arrows, anyway?

Yeah, I know it makes sense, but it's funny to see a throwing knife chasing my character with the boots of speed in circles...all over High Hedge...etc.

Actually pertaining the skeletons in High Hedge there's some major bugs with it anyways because you can plunk away at them with arrows and they'll do full damage instead of only the one hp they're supposed to. I personally love Baldur's Gate though, not so much for the gameplay but the storyline which totally rocks. Besides that Baldur's Gate has lots of little fun. . . quirks to it. Like the occasional random appearance of Elminster, helping Drizzt slice apart the gnolls (as if he really needed the help!) and meeting Larry, Darryl, and Darryl. And who could forget "little" Rufie and Albert? Seriously, it's all those quirky side-quests which made Baldur's Gate so much fun. I would totally reccommend the game, especially if you like RPGs

[IMG] One of the advantages for me of BG1, when compared to BG2, IWD1 and IWD2, is the fact that the map is more or less continuous. If you want to just wander off eastwards, you can. If you want to actually walk that full distance from Nashkell to the city of Baldur's Gate, you can. Despite the fact that the later games had better engines (IWD2 being the best in my opinion), this free-space feel of BG1 is a major advantage. It is a pity there aren't more isometric games about of the calibre of BG1.
