Smoking cigars is reserved for when I have my 1st child. Even then, I probably would smoke anything.

As for planning the actual wedding...I don't think planning it will be the hard part - afording it will. Traditionally, the bride's parents are supposed to pay for a large portion, if not all of the wedding costs. But she and her dad aren't on speaking terms, and her mom is dirt-poor ever since her last divorce. My parents are retired, and I highly doubt that they'll help much. My dad has promised us a $1000 honeymoon gift check...but that's it. :(

Why couldn't I have been born in to a rich family? :money: :rolling:

Congrats Ktrax! Don't worry about the money side. The wedding is what's important, not how lavish it is. I'm sure you will have agreat day. :)

Don't worry over the expense (or lack of) for the wedding. My mom paid for mine and it was the best $80 bucks she spent. :money:  Call in favors so you won't have to pay for those honking expensive things like pictures and the cake.

Huh? How can you people say "Don't worry about the money"?

Of course he has to worry about the money! The wedding will probably cost more than anything he has ever bought before in his life. It will be worth it, but it will still be expensive. And seeing as bride's parents don't really pay for stuff any more these days, he will have to find the money from somewhere. So he has to worry, otherwise it won't happen.

HB, the wedding ceremony is not about money. The only thing that really matters are the exchanged vows, whether they are said before a crowd of a thousand with everything imaginable or between Kitrax and his g/f in the kitchen of their apartment.

A 'wedding', for a definition, is nothing more than a dig me party for the bride. If she really needs all that money spent to make her feel important, she need to step back and think about binding herself to someone for the rest of her life.

It's not ABOUT money, but it still usually COSTS money. Some people may have very small weddings but most of the people I know tend to have the most expensive wedding they can afford.
