    I'm curious as to what the Strategy Mode didn't do for you because after I realized you didn't want the camera to rotate behind the character while moving, I tried it in Strategy Mode and the camera would stay focused on the character without any rotation as I moved. In other words, I had control over the rotational and zoom aspect of the camera while the camera would auto-translate to keep the character centered on the screen.

    Strategy mode is more for when you're in a heavy fire fight when looking at specific objects isn't the main focus so much as keeping all your allies(and enemies) in sight. The ability to move the camera around independent of any of your characters is what makes it special. I couldn't see using it for walking around talking to people or in small fights.

    As I said, you can configure it to be identical to Character Mode except the camera will not rotate behind your character when you move.

    The only downside to that is if you want to use both Character Mode and Strategy Mode to get different camera functionality when you switch between them.

    That's what I'm trying to get to. What about using Strategy Mode could you not get to be exactly like Character Mode?

    The camera will not turn at all for me in strategy mode, and wobbles quite a bit when I am in character mode. I think it's just trying to drive me crazy.

    Did you uncheck the option for scrolling when the mouse reaches the edge of the screen in the Strategy Mode options GUI?

    Yes, I did, hence the driving me crazy part. It should turn the camera at screen edge, but it doesn't. The pointer just stops.

    Try selecting something other than "camera centered on character". It will force it back after you apply the settings. I think I remember having the same problem at first but it went away after I played with some other settings and I think that one in particular.

    I have the camera anchored near character right now. I'll try free camera, then re-enable the mouse turn on hitting edge option. Right now I have both options unchecked. The game has been crashing on me a lot lately, so I've got other issues going on, too.
