How to know when you're in a romance?

    i am very confused with romances. how do you know that you are in a romance with someone? how can you tell? how can you see how far it has gone? any info would be helpful.....thanx ;)

    When the NPC starts chatting to you and the music changes you know the romance has started. It's just a linear storyline, just count the amount of conversations you've had.

    ok, there are some rules according to romancing.

    Viconia will NOT romance: Half-Orcs, Dwarves & Elves

    Aerie, Jaheira & Anomen will NOT romance: Half-Orcs & Dwarves

    I'm not sure about Anomen as I have never romanced, though I would think the same rules apply to him

    Then just guide your way through the dialogue's

    You mean Vic will fall for halflings and gnomes??? That surprises me, and amuses me at the same time. Might have to try that out sometime.

    Ladonna - I don't know whether you saw my answer to your question in another post about how to get in bed with Anomen - it's on this site: http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/003427.html

    For Anomen, if he starts talking to you about his test and about wanting to become a knight, the romance is starting. Be nice to him.

    For Jaheira, the romance starts when she starts talking a lot to you about keeping the balance and that sort of things. Agree with her.

    For Aerie, the romance starts with her talking about losing her wings, and wondering if a man ever can find her attractive. Be nice to her.

    For Viconia, she is pretty straight forwards from the beginning, asking you if you're turned on by knowing she's good at erotic arts (or something like that). Be rough to her.

    So generally, if an NPC starts talking a lot to you, a romance is starting. Whether it will continue or not, is up to you and the answers you give them.

    There's a romance patch you can get from this site that will allow you to romance everyone simultaneously. I'm sure someone else will provide a link but you should find it easily from the first page.

    Hmmm, that's odd. I had romances with Viconia AND Jaheira as a dwarven berserker. Granted, they both ended well before the endings, but they definitely started. Perhaps it's just a bug.
