How do you install Near Infinity?

    How do you install Near infinity? The only files I have are "class", "icon" or "text" files. And one "MF" file in that "META-INF" folder that's not inside the "infinity" folder. It's in it's own little folder feeling left out and lonely.
    If I try to use any of the files it says a pop-up appears and says "Use the web service to find the correct program"??
    Is there an additional file I need??

    To open a specific game (bg:ee, Sod, et.c.) click "Game" -> "Open Game" and and go to your install directory and select "chitin.key".

    To be clear: You don't install it. If you've downloaded the right archive and have Java installed, the JAR file will be executable.

    The JAR file looks like a ZIP file? It does for me at least. I can unzip/unrar it. That's when I get all of the files with the extensions I mentioned.
    How do I check for JAVA?

    Go to your control panel then programs and features and check which (if any) version you have installed (search for java). Or you just download and try and install it (it should tell you if you have it already).

    If it looks like a zip file, you've associated it with your archiver software (WinRAR, 7-Zip, etc.). Go into file association settings of your archiver and untick JAR files.

    Go to this address, download and install the latest java version: https://java.com/en/download/

    After you do that, if you can't run the file, go to Control Panel -> Default Programs -> Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program.

    Find and double click on .jar files in the file type list, browse for your jawaw.exe file (probably in Program Files\Java\jre8\bin\) and click open.

    That should re-associate JAR files with Java.
