Recently I got quite abit of money to spare, and i am thinking about upgrading my PC. I bought it in 2006, I think. 2.8 giga something. I am completely out at sea when it comes to the technical bits and such things though. So what I am wondering is this. What kind of upgrades will I need to play newer games perfectly. I am thinking about The Witcher, and games like that. Any help will be appretiated.

    We need more specifics :)

What's your CPU, CPU tact, amount of RAM, type of graphics card (AGP {probably} or PCI-E), what HDD interface (IDE or SATA) etc pp - the more the better. Next thing, how much do you want to spend?

In the end it comes down to a question between upgrading or a new system. Depending on how your system is, say when you bought a mid level or low end comp in 2006, an upgrade might just not be economically sensible.

Yeah I was talking to a friend about it earlier today. Might as well just buy a new comp, it seems. The money will be better spent that way, I guess.
