    Interesting ... that kind of begs the question: does the existence of that sort of thing empower the happy-making qualities of the others? e.g. (to pick a random example), would Christmas Eve be as nice for Shoshino if he weren't getting away from work at the same time? Or is Christmas Eve just that good, and it would be the same even if he were a millionaire and didn't have to toil away at work like everybody else? Also nuns, music, laughing, writing, hockey, running, gaming, fishing, naps, snakes, yachts, dancing, boating, etc. ... are they independently great or are they great (at least in part) because other things suck?

    Personally, I think they're great independently --- and that other things suck because they're not great.

    Simple things

    Struggling with new diabetes diagnosis and discovered that coping with stress is a huge component of dealing with diabetes. Coming home to my wife and ten pound Silky Terrier Carmella makes me happy. A hug, kiss, and a pat :)
