[IMG] "Chuggers" are the folks who case whole streets (especially in the run up to Christmas, when wasteful commercialism is rife) and badger people to sign up to the "minimum £10 per month donation" thing I mentioned. The "borrowers" you're talking about aren't chuggers, just arsey sorts who know that they can get a couple of quid off of people by looking mean. I've had a run-in someone like that before, but he only got ~£2. My fault for being south of the river at 1am, anyway. ;)

It takes a pretty big set of cojones to not only solicit a donation but also ask for private financial information to make the donation an ongoing thing. I'm glad to give, but it'll be on my terms, not theirs.

Speaking of guilt, I really need to get the paper for the TV listings instead of using the TV channel that gives the same data -- they are ALWAYS showing pictures of starving people and hitting me up for money. It drives me bonkers -- call me insensitive, but I've been seeing pictures like that all my life -- after a while I just feel like I'm being manipulated. I just change the channel until an advertisement for a bankruptcy specialist comes on.
