I read in a walkthrough that this scroll isn't available anywhere in SOA? Is it true? I think I found it, but as random item on a monster.

The Sekolah priestess, the elf in Suldanessellar, and Galoomp the Bookkeeper all sell the scroll.

and i'm sure you can pick it from the cold, dead fingers of many a dead mage across the realms.

    Actually, he's right.

The scroll does exist in the game files, but it wasn't placed anywhere in the unpatched game.

Almost two years, I posted to the web a complete analysis where Extremist and I pored through the game files and found every location of every scroll in there. I'm pretty sure it's still hosted here at SP (correct me if I'm wrong, Tal. Not sure if you took that down whenever the mods were moved.)

I downloaded and used your spreadsheet in the past--it's most excellent. :thumb: I don't have it here at work with me, so I was trying to post those from memory.

Do you mean unpatched SoA has no greater malisons--they're purely from the patch?

Not to contradict anyone, my first months of BG2:SoA gameplay were without the benefit of any patch, and Galoomp the Bookkeeper always had a Greater Malison scroll to sell for any of my mage-PC's.
Tell me if my memory has failed me.

Actually I think I misunderstood--I think Rastor means you won't find them on any enemy or in any containers; you can only purchase them. I just did a quick NI search and can confirm they're not on any creatures, in any containers, not available as random drops, or created or used in any scripts. Doesn't rule out mods, of course.

In that case, there hardly is a spell scroll worth prying from a typical BG-ian enemy's dead hands, though containers usually yield something useful. Agreed.
