    The problem is that while Obama supports this bill he has not exactly been out in front of this issue. Dems have complained that the prez needs to step up a bit, and apply some pressure on those Republicans, rather than the "pushy NY congressmen," as some have described them, doing all the work on this bill. While the bill certainly helps NY, I don't see a problem with that. It could have just as easily been the Port of Houston and it would be Texas that would be needing the help. I'm not sure what's happening with the Pentagon workers, but I would think that the bill applies to them as well, or at least it should apply to first responders and military there also.

    It looks now like Senator Coburn's blocking of the bill has been dealt with, and the bill will likely pass today or tomorrow. I've got to hand it to him, though I'm not a fan, Harry Reid can kick some ass when he needs to.
