    Yeah, that's old news. I can't remember what he was trying to say though. It was either that he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman, or that gay marriage is between the couple involved and government should have no say. I'm guessing it was the latter.

    Not such a big deal when viewed in context. This was August 28, 2003. He apparently, like more and more politicians it seems, doesn't support gay marriage but says he would support a domestic partnership. These partnerships typically grant many if not all of the same rights granted in a marriage but appease some. This is the position of Howard Dean for example.

    Well, I thought it was very funny. I also found out that it was mentioned because Arnold was runner up for some dubious "award" for gaffes. I guess I'm just not much of an Arnold watcher.

    You know, I love what Trudeau is doing with Doonesbury. He's got Arnold pictured as a huge disembodied hand and calls him "Herr Gropenfuhrer." Mind you, as most people here probably know, I voted for him and am rooting for him. That being said, I love Trudeau and laugh every time I read the comic strip.

    Chandos - Yeah, Rummy won that award for his "known knowns, known unknowns and unknown unknowns" spiel. :) Both are pretty funny.

    All I'm going to say about this is that the alternatives included a porn star, Larry Flynt, and Gary Coleman.

    Oh, and Jean Chretien has a somewhat severe speech disorder, making some of what he says hard to understand, and he was Prime Minister of Canada from 1993 to three days ago.
