Can you select a gender without inputting a date of birth?

Probably not, as the settings on the whole page get saved via the same button and date of birth is required at registration now... but since you can opt to hide your date of birth so that it's not visible to anyone but administrators, I don't know why that's a concern?

Because if you don't have a date of birth, then you obviously don't have a gender. Duh.

    :p

DOB can open a lot of doors to your identity. It's not that I distrust SP, just a general cautionary measure to take when it comes to the web. I could fabricate one I suppose, but then I'd feel slimey somehow. ;) No big deal.

Good to hear that you're not being paranoid! :shake:

Seriously, the only thing we keep dates of birth for is for age limit compliance, nothing else. As with everything submitted to SP, it is not and never will be used for anything besides the functions of the message boards. Since all we potentially get from you is an e-mail which you can change at any point and a date of birth with no real name or surname associated with it, I really can't see how anyone could use this information for anything nefarious.

Oh, I have no doubts about SP, and I'm not thinking of nefariety (is that a word? ;)) on your part.

Shell's conspiracy theories gain some serious credibility. Hmm.

Damn, my comments about my boyfriend will no longer confuse and confound and set people to saying "I thought Uri was a guy?"

Also, I believe the term would be "nefariousness"
