    I predict that someday someone will publish a book of 'found' necro thread posts. Some of these things are genuinely creepy (speaking to people from another time is kind of unavoidably so, like whispering down an empty street where crowds once passed), others seem whimsical (are the necro posters reaching out to these long ago posters in some vain attempt to recapture something?), and still others are just sad (who is the necro poster, why is he so late, and where have the absent original posters gone? Who knows...not here. 'Nevermore.') :D

    Seriously, it could make for interesting reading if you provided the right sort of context. It would be somehow similar to that hobby people have of photographing once thriving but now run-down buildings and places where everything and everyone has moved on.

    Just for the record - again - it's absolutely fine with us to revive old threads as long as the new post is meaningful and on-topic. If we wanted to lock old threads to prevent responses, we would have done so.

    That said, it's better when it's not done by spammers. *sigh*
