[IMG] My game always crashes when I enter the mortuary for the last time to go to the fortress of regrets. I have installed the FixPack 1.37 without the patch because I have the 2 CD version. Also I installed the restoration pack for the spells.

This is the first bug I encountered and it prevents me from finishing the game. I've tried swapping CDs etc. but every time it tries to load the mortuary it then crashes.

Is there a solution to this problem except restarting and hoping that it won't happen again?

My game crashes when I enter the Alley of Wispering Sighs, and it turned out to be that a gamefile on the CD was corrupt.

Check this by copying your gamefiles from the CD to your HDD, if one of the files is corrupt, Windows should give an error while copying.

So maybe that is your problem?

I tried that already, the files are all working correctly.

Have you tried removing the patches(if you have to reinstall the game, I think the save-games will still be valid).

Try deleting everything in the game's cache directory and then running the game again.

"Have you tried removing the patches(if you have to reinstall the game, I think the save-games will still be valid)."

Yes, I tried it without the fixpack and the restorations but then the game wouldn't even load because it's missing the old files.

"Try deleting everything in the game's cache directory and then running the game again."

Since I already tried reinstalling the game, this isn't working either...

This happens with the 2CD version. The first floor of the Mortuary will crash no matter what once it happens.

Fortunately, you only need to go to the second floor to finish the game. You can get there by dying.

[IMG] Damn, that sounds like a serious issue... isn't there a fix for it? Why does it happen?

It doesn't really affect the game, as long as the player remembers they can get back into the Mortuary by dying.

There is no known way to fix it and I have no idea what causes it.

I've never played through the game with the 2CD version, so it's never happened to me.

Well, at least now I know it's not only my game that's got this problem. Platter, I sent you my save game.

My junkmail filter must have deleted it...
Was the word "torment" in the subject?

No, it was "mortuary crash", but I'll just send it again. You can receive 500kb files, right?

    Got it. Thank you.

I just can't figure out what causes this crash.
