Downloaded Wesnoth yesterday and have been playing it a fair bit. Its pretty good for a freeware game. For those of you who have played it for a while, what are some of the better add-ons to get?

Edit: Came across this site a few days ago and had a bit of a look. Still hadnt reached the bottom of the list after about 10 minutes of reading through some of the game discription (and when I say some I mean about 1 in 10)

One of my personal favourites is Attack of the Killer Swarm

 

Minigolf Pro - really fun minigolf game with nice courses, power-ups etc.

Jetz Rampage 4 - 2d platform shooter with a jetpack. It has a huge chaotic fun factor, multiple missions and lots of guns.

Plasma pong - Pong with a twist, you kind of shoot plasma into a pool with your paddle. Two player is crazy, graphics look really nice in a kind of retro way and the physics are excellent. Has fairly high system reqs. though.

Icy tower - Platformer where your only goal is to jump up a tower getting as many points as possible by landing combos. It is ridiculously addictive.

.kkrieger - chapter I - Straight up first person shooter with 5 types of gun. It has really, really, really, really good graphics for a freeware game (or just about any full release game for that reason). The most amazing thing is the download is only 96kb (or rather 98304 bytes). Download it just to see what you can pack into 96kb!!!

 

Two great freeware Adventures that I recently revolved around asylum inmates, though one of them was more humourus (dark humour):

Mind's Eye - You start out in your cell, not even knowing your name. A conversation with the guard quickly reveals your name - Noah - but not why you're in the Asylum. You decide you have to find out, as you can't bear to forget who you are again.

Emily Enough: Imprisoned - Emily Enough is a little girl that has murdered her parents and the servants. She is sent to an asylum, but soon discovers that the Asylum doubles as an office for the company that owns it. This does not matter much to her though, as she's hell bent on escaping the Asylum.

 

I could recommend getting a hold at the Jagged Alliance game (1st part is abandonware afaik, it's from the makers of Wizardry if anyone's tried it). A great strategy with a touch of RPG from the time when that wasn't a cliche.
