The spell description states that this spell deals 1d6 arrow and 4d6 fire damage per arrow. It also states that there are supposedly multiple arrows fired upon gaining higher levels. However, try as I may to use this spell to inflict massive damage, it only ever seems to fire 1 arrow per casting. I watch and it only deals a single 1d6 from the arrow, and 4d6 from the flame, should there be extra damage or is the spell description simply a typo?

Every time I use Flame Arrow, I get at least four reports (in the little message box) of damage being inflicted on my foes. Usually between 5 to 12 points per individual blast.

I can't think of any reason for your having a problem. Visually, I only see one arrow, but the damage it inflicts speaks of more.

my guess is its much like a regular fire arrow, just a spell, it does the initial damage, and if they arnt resistance or make a saving throw they take fire damage, but i dont know for sure..

You get an extra arrow every 5 levels your character advances.

Duh, Bowie, what he's trying to point out here, is that he doesn't get an extra bolt per 5 levels!
I have the same problem... Still don't know what it is...!

Nobody's mentioned what level they were when casting it, duh. Thus my assumption that perhaps they were level 9 or below. If someone had mentioned they were higher level I would of kept out of this coversation. Thanks.

Level 16. Well within the "higher" levels that you need to get extra bolts. So by all rights I believe I should recieve 3 bolts but I only get 1 per casting. Makes those flame arrow powered sequecers kinda weak.

I only use flame arrows for killing trolls. The only low level magic I use is magic missile to disrupt my enemies. (Five missiles in one go means that atleast one has to get trough the resistance.) With a level 16 mage, I have so many highpowered magics, that I don't need to worry about flame arrows.

Just my rantings though it might not be of much use.

Not sure what the answer is here but as I recall, the PnP version you could choose to either fire one arrow that did 1d6 piercing, and a level dependent amount of fire damage, or set a certain number of bow fired arrows on fire for the next few rounds (more of a military type use). So perhaps this was just done as higher damage from one arrow, rather than multiple arrows and the description was written wrong?

I believe they didn't make three arrows fly when at level 15, but one arrow that makes triple damage.

Why use a flame arrow when you can use Melf's Minute Metoers? You get more of the, similar damage, and they strike as +5 weapons.

I am tired of typing it over and over.

    One more time:

MELF's MINUTE METEORS ARE +4 TO HIT!!!!!

    Mord's Sword is also +4

the only thing that is a +5 is the Black Blade of Disaster.
