    @ Aldeth

I never said he clearly won all three - just the last one. The second was a tie/narrow win, and I personally thought the first was much, much closer than the third. A win for sure, but I didn't feel that Bush was quite as devasted as most people did.

And as strange as this may sound, I expected Kerry to suck in all 3 debates, to be honest. In a wierd way, I was hoping he would suck. Call me crazy but I actually expected Bush to be...like, ya know...prepared? Even at this late stage in the game, Bush still has/had the opportunity to sway me. And this is important to me - because if Kerry did suck, it would have forced me to seriously re-evaluate my support for him. I'm the type of person who likes having his convictions challenged. I don't want to vote against Bush, I want to vote FOR Kerry. And Kerry gave me plenty of reasons to do so, and Bush was so disappointing that it actually makes me question the intellectual honesty and, frankly, intellect, of those who support him so blindly. Considering where I live, that's pretty much...well...half the people I know.

So to say that I believe Kerry swept the debates because that's what I wanted him to do doesn't really say much about me as a person (in all fairness, I'm sure you didn't mean it like that). I'm not a bitter, obstinate partisan - I've always considered myself a centrist, and still do (though, I will admit, this administration makes that difficult for me - and in fact pushes me farther and farther to the left every day). My personal opinion is that Kerry did sweep the debates, and fortunately the conventional wisdom happens to agree with my assessment.
