If you dual from fighter (any subclass) to druid then you are still restricted to the druids weapons, but you can wear any armour.

Wizard Slayer would still be limited to no magic items. The only way around this is Wizard Slayer/Thief - look into Tob forum for more info on HLAs.

I am just finishing BG1 as a Druid, which I will import into BG2. I have found no major problems in melee - only 1 attack can be a drag but potions can fix this. THAC0 is reasonable (improves by 2 every 3 levels) and priests are 2nd pest fighters.

I have used darts all the way through for ranged support and these have been superb. 3 attacks per round are excellent for disrupting enemy mages.

I like the kits which is why I went single class. if you want a fighter/druid then dual-class and avoid multi-classing as I think it's a killer for druids as you have to wait far too long for the best abilities/spells.
