I've got the re-sit for my final exam in level 2 in sign language tonight!

There's three exams on the course, the first is watching a DVD of someone signing a story and then answering questions. That was really easy, I got 19/20 (or something like that) and I'd had Ashley by ceasarian section the day before!

The second one was just having a conversation for 7 minutes with my tutor about a chosen topic, it was video'd and sent off to be marked, passed it no problem.

The third one is a toughey though. You pick one of three topics a few weeks before the exam and then when you go into the exam you have 3 sub-topics to pich from and you have to sign a story about them. I picked food and drink last time but the sub-topics were awful! We could choose from 'I prefer eating at home/eating out because...' 'A family recipie' or 'I'm a good cook because...'
Everyone in the class had picked food and drink and only two people passed. We all said we couldn't even TALK about those topics for three minutes, nevermind sign!
The other two main topics to talk about were shopping and spending and travel and holidays. I saw the travel and holiday sub-topics and they were even worse! The choices were 'Going on a cruise' 'Running out of money on holiday' and (I think) 'Being ill on holiday' it meant that a lot of people were having to make stuff up to sign about which is even harder because signing is all about facial expression and things so if you're having to lie then it's hard to pull the right face!
I've decided to do shopping and spending this tome around in the hope that there are some topics that aren't going to involve me making things up or chattering on about the merits of fresh spinach over frozen.

    Wish me luck!

Good luck! I hated those forced conversation exams we had for English. Only in our case, it was even worse. You got a random partner and drew a random subject and had to speak about it for 3 minutes. No preparation possible. Just... horrible. Didn't really go that bad for me, but I feel that the concept is so ridiculous and impossible to grade fairly that I only see it as a test of whether you can converse with a random partner for 3 minutes about a random topic without running out of words or not.

Actually, thinking about it now, it might have been 5 minutes. I don't think 3 would have been that bad, so it must have been 5, at least.
