    Lol, radio brought a little summary.

    The song turkish song is not too good, but not too bad either. Nothing worht to remember, but hm, I saw a picture of the turkish singer in the newspaper today. Ahm, yes, looks nice. He, he, looks count. :D ;)

    And UK. Sorry, politics had nothing to do with it. Well, OK, maybe it has cost the British 10 points out of mercy, but that song just sucked. :evil:

    @Nobleman (long time no speak) I think perhaps the french is used still because until recently it was the genrally accepted political dialouge used in Brussels. I know our priminister (blair) uses it a great deal when talking to his arch nemesis Chirac.

    However, recently it has been demoted behind english, and in all honesty there is a lot less French used during Eurovision than there ever was before, only the key phrases were translated last night, while i remember several years ago nearly all of it was translated.
    Just be patient and soon it will die out.

    Don't forget that Germany always gives Turkey 12 and vica versa. It's all so bloody political. :mad: :mad:

    Hi from an arrogant and stupid Frenchy !

    So Mr Nobleman, where does your nobility go ? :)

    That's increadible how so much hate can be shown in so few words.

    I can read and speak English. I can read German. I can understand a little bit of Italian and Spanish. When I went to Turkey a few years ago, I tried to learn some words and sentences. What about you ? Apart from being narrow-minded, what can you do ?

    It's funny that some are trying desperatly to construct a european community, respecting each others, while others are so narrow-minded that they can't understand why we all are proud of our languages. It's part of our identities. And therefore, each country should present this silly contest in its own language.

    I suppose that next year, you'll be laughing at the turkish accent.

    I'm a real music fan since years. I love your country for what it brought to my life, from the Beatles or Bowie to Blur or the Verbs. Anyway, Eurovision muzak stays muzak : if UK's got no point, don't you think it could be just because the song sucked ?

    This contest does NOT reflect what people are thinking about their neighbours. It's only a way to make a lot of money with a nananana song anyone could sing.

    So forgive me but I think you're kinda paranoïd. Iraki war was a shame, but let's put the blame on the governments, not on the people. My American and English friends are still my friends. They're not so stubborn.

    Thanx :)

    And one more word : French is spoken not only by Frenchies but also in half of Belgium, one third of Switzerland and half of Luxemburg. Plus some places in Italy ;

    The question is not what language is best or worse. It's no arrogance. It's just a habit from the old times when Eurovision was restricted to a dozen of countries LOL.

    In Brussel, all languages are equal and translators are kings of the world :)

    I suggest Eurovision should be presented in Chinese, since it's the most spoken language on earth :p

    Ahm, don't forget, that there a lot of Turks living inside of Germany. So, it's not "political" but "family (sp ?)values". And by the way, the UK gave Ireland 12 points. Irish living in the UK and their "family (sp ?) values"?

    At Idaho ArDinlach :wave: :roll:

    French-speakers need to have a thick skin.

    I have given up on the trash that is Eurovision. Although one year I DID point ouut that the Slovenian drag queens resembled our glorious leader quite a bit... :D

    Seriously, guess how FREAKING STUPID we Finns are concering the Eurovison? In 2000 we had a chance to send NIGHTWISH with their song, Sleeping Sun, which quite a few of you probably know, to represent us. We didn't. Instead we sent some stupid bint in a horrid yellow dress and a bad afro with a ditty no one can recall. *sigh*

    We suck.

    The day Finland wins the Eurovision Song COntest is the day after Hell freezes over.

    Ara, Estonia sucks too.

    We both are in the sucky camp. :/

    Oh well. Well, this year Slovenia sucked. The song was a bloody copy of Estonia's 2002 Eurovision song.

    Ukraine too. *topples over*

    I was just curious. With all due respect, it defies all logic to an outsider that only one country has to use a different language when points are given and votes are told. If the, as you put it, "pride" of a country balances on the urge to get every number on a Point table repeated on their language, something is wrong. Is greece humiliated cause the points aren't repeated in greek? Are the germans? No not at all. I was aksing a question out of curiousity, not beeing narrow minded. Why why and why? If its due to some people not speaking English, I suggest Spanish or German would be a far better choice than French. And every country has national televison hosts, anyway.

    On an important sidenote; I have nothing against foreign songs. In fact I think every country should reperesent their songs in their native languages. As it used to be. Al least that made the show more interesting. What doesn't make the show interesting is if the points were mentioned in greek, english, french, german, Danish, sweedish, turkish, belgian, spanish, italian etc.. Because those nations defy logic and felt it as a blow against their pride any other way.

    PS; These are the countries that are related with French speech in some way. Perhaps I was a bit over the top by saying it is arrogance. Sorry then, but people from most of these countries aren't what I would call favored Eurovision viewers. I don't see anything special on that list that wouldn't make Germany a *better* choice if the argument is that people do not understand english. :) .;

    Who watches that crap anyway, its just REALY irritating music sung by people who was picked up on the street for their good looking. The only reason one could ever have had to see that stuff was T.A.T.U preforming naked, but they werent allowed to, so who cares how it goes for your country, the guy in the band from sweden(where I come from) is a lowlife non-hetero sexual and im sure the ones from the other countrys were the same to. :toofar:

    There are Turks swarming all over Europe. So this voting system(which is new I guess) is truly ridicilous.

    Lesbians? As if it really made a difference, the obvious truth is that it's a cheap marketing trick. Nothing more. Unfortunately it seems to be working.

    I'm just glad that Finland didn't stick any ugly, pathetic, incompetent singers there again this year. About time they learned to be realistic about their beliefs.
