I've been learning to play the Babylon 5 game. Was looking through the book, picking out what ships were shiniest to me and surprise surprise I picked The Gaim Intelligence to play in my first game... Leading to a chorus of men much older than me commenting that I was obviously a nid player. For anyone not familiar with the show, the Gaim are an insectoid race with a hive mind controlled by the queens. They have ridiculous Crew stats (one ship I had with the Queen on had 57 damage points, which is average and 120 crew. Which was more than the whole of Kevs fleets staffing combined twice over... then I had four more ships) In the TV series where I've only seen the first and fifth series it's the green dude who people keep going to so he solves problems which is invarioubly "Very hard to acquire. Very expensive" I also love beam weapons. Bombs are pretty dandy too.

Am feeling a little bad though... during the night my migraine kicked in again and I had no ibuprofen to take off the edge. So I got a little short with Kev, which I regret dreadfully and have apologised for profusely. It seems to be a bloke thing, when guys get together they're automatically louder, they speak louder, make bawdier jokes, etc, with a migraine I kept having to ask him not to shout to which "I'm not shouting!" just incited a little more irritation. Also the B5 game requires a lot to be written down, so when Kev was rattling off numbers when he still had the pad and paper I snapped at him a bit as well. Apparently he got looks from his friends over it as well so I feel terrible I've shown him up in front of his friends and also upset him a little.
