Dragon's Breath or Comet?

Ok, I really don't see much of a difference between the two, which is better? I've been using comet mainly cause it looks cooler :D.

[IMG] Yeah, and I dont think it has any specific elemental property, so unlike dragons breath it affects things that are resistant to fire. Comet all the way

[IMG] Comet has the chance of knocking people back. I love it for that feature alone .

I haven't used Dragon's Breath too much, so I wouldn't know. I like the idea of a comet better though. Especially indoors.

dragons breath can knock people back as well and since its elemental it works better against certain opposing elementals.
there both good spells I use lots.

Either comet and dragon's breath has its advantages and disadvantages. Why I like dragon's breath better is the fact, that it ignores magic resistance, and...something better, I could kill the demilich in the watcher's keep level 4 with a single spell!
Its disadvantage is that fire resistance stops the spell.
Comet is also a great spell, but magic resistance stops it, and I think fire resistance has also effect on it.

    So...dragon's breath all the way!!!

Ever try casting improved alracity and then calling down a bunch of comets? Fun stuff!

The reason I'm so interested in these is that I'm soloing an Assassin/Mage, already at level 13/22 and in spellhold, and I've yet to find a single level 9 spell. So all 3 of my spell slots are devoted to high level abilities. So far I have 2 in comet and 1 in improved alracity.

They both do fire damage so there's no advantage either way there.

The thing I hated about Dragon's Breath is that you have to wait for the damn dragon's head to appear before the fireball casts, Comet is virtually instantaneous.

    Comet all the way, baby!

Why? Although Dragon's Breath quotes 20d10 as opposed to 10d10, you may notice there's a "save for half" clause. So against most enemies worthy of a level 9 offensive spell, there's practically no difference.

Dragon's breath looks better with the dragon head, but Comet is more practical. Faster.

I like the comet affect more too, I'll keep on using it until I pick up some better scrolls like Time Stop.

[IMG] Oh, dear god DRAGONS BREATH and for one reason you fools are all missing... comet targets a single person(with area dammage) dragons breath targets an area! So for those like me who get in battles above their heads? get out of sight of the target and blast em with dragons breath, you dont even have to see them to kill them!

I don't care Comet looks cooler :). There are more than enough area affect spells like Albizalzims, fireball, skulltrap, cloudkill, need I go on?

I could kill tons of skeleton warriors with a single dragon's breath, while when bombarding them with comet the description said:"skeleton warrior: magic resistance" -Oops! Whatta disappointment!

Learn the fact that no one skill is better then the rest. each spell ability has its unique purpose and ability. Comet and Dragons breath are different, people choose what they want on what other skills they have already have. Learn it, accept it, and stop the ranting.

I found that neither of them came close to touching the immense power of abi dalzim's horrid wilting, though it's just my opinion...

    Cheers, Void

[IMG] I'd say take dragons breath. When I played through the game with a solo mage, I wasn't judging spells by their looks.

i like dragons breath better, but a valid point was made earlier that they are different spells and you should choose which you are going to use depending on the situation.
