[IMG] I refered to the fact that Black Isle is dead and people accepted it, tears and sorrow... Why can't this forum and game die a fair and definite death as Black Isle and many other things die?...Like SEGA consoles, Xcom, Napster, peace and love, etc. That was my question.

As for your reasons to allow this game to have it's space... Other than a mostly deserved grave... You're the man in charge and know better than me. Sorry Tal.

Same goes for you. Just don't write here if you want it to die. Conversation only creates more of it.

[IMG] Ok, enough of this off-topic nonsense. All of this could and should have been handled over PM, so please take it there if you have anything more to say.

I bought it a while ago. Despite the reputation, I intended to sell it on eBay for the bargain price that I picked up a boxed collectors edition for <suckers! :) > . I still have it. Admittedly it's not the best game, but neither is it the worst. I like it, I shall continue to play it, and none of the essentially baseless complaints <i.e I didn't like it so why should you> are going to stop me, k?

btw <off topic> Tal, ur post count is HUGE

After roaming the pc game aisle at my local game shop i got an idea...I've played the BG series, IWD series, and the NWN games. (I never really liked the look of Planescape, so I don't think i'll ever get that one.) I thought "Why not see if they have that PoR game" I looked and found a copy at 15 bucks. I couldn't go wrong at that price and i never saw it at the other "boutique" in the last couple years so i thought "Why not?". When i brought it to the counter the guy who waited on me said it was a "great game". Since he looked like the typical D&D head i felt confident in my purchase. Though i've only played a few minutes of it, it seems pretty cool, only time will tell. It is a nice change from my second BG:OS run that keeps pissing me off with random Assertion Errors. Maybe after playing it awhile i'll have a new post to put in this forum. Hopefully a positive one...... ;)

I'll say one thing...the character sprites are a hell of lot cooler looking than Bioware's. Troika's ToEE's sprites are also much better i might add.

Just a warning Sauron the Puppy

I heard PoR will screw up your registry if you try to uninstall it.

Is that why they have a patch to uninstall it?
    Thanks for the heads-up

Anyway I was just about to start playing when a storm came and knocked out my power for a couple hours. The juice came back on and i'm starting to dig in to it a little bit. It seems a tad slow but i can handle that. All in all I think I may enjoy it. We'll see......

It's a good thing you read my post. It sucks re-installing windows just because of PoR. :)

[IMG] Well i've played for a couple hours and with the benefit of the 'game speed mod' i am really enjoying it! My party is a half-elf male ranger, an elvin female sorcerer, a half-elf male rogue, and a human female cleric. The party is working out pretty well when at first i thought it would be way too underpowered. The speed mod takes all the drag out of the game. I can leave it set at normal or one above when lurking around and crank up the pace to cover some ground or retrace my steps. So far i am really happy i went out and bought this game. :thumb:
