I remember He-Man and teenage mutant ninja hero turtles (i couldn't remember it even then, the title i mean). I still have the (non-cartoon) he-man film, critiscising it with a friend provides hours of fun.

Turtles used to be my favorite cartoon, too. Oddly enough, I still remember the lyrics to the theme song.

He-Man has been resurrected on Cartoon Network, BTW.

Thanks for correcting that. Battle of the Planets was the name of the show. G-Force was their team name. Wow Casey Kasem did the voice acting for Mark, the leader of G-Force.

I only remember the Voltron with the five lions. I'll have to look into the other bit mentioned.

Can't forget the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon either. About three years ago it was re-broadcast on Saturday mornings. I actually used to get up to watch it. Also, in BG2 at the back of the Adventurer's Mart, there are two paintings. One of Bobby and one of Hank from that cartoon.

I had forgotten all about that cartoon, wasn't there some little wizard guy too? They also had some other D & D action figures around that time. My brother and I had the whole original star wars collection. Playsets, figures, ships, you name it. Then the sewer in our basement backed up. Everything was covered in...well you know.... We lost everything. Kinda heart wrenching when you see how much that stuff is selling for on ebay.

Yeah the little gnome/wizard guy was the Dungeon Master. He was always leading them to quests, and then would split when things got hairy. He would then reappear at the end of the show after the quest was solved. Go figure.

I remember watching the SpiderMan cartoons religiously. Anyone else here remember Pole Position?

Well, I'm not as old as you guys, but I've seen a lot of these shows, in one way or another, and I gotta say that I'm happy I was born in this generation! I know those shows are classics and were the best in their time, but whoo! Nostalgia to the max! Although, I will admit that I loved the Green Hornet. Anyone remember that?

[IMG] i think i've got a game called GForce or Battle of the Planets, on the MAME emulator. Can't remember what it was like though.

I've also just had a flashback to some wierd cartoons from way back:

    Podington Peas,
    Bertha (the wonderfull machine),
The Moomins (funny wierd alien-like cross between hippo's and some other wierd incantation),
TRAPDOOR (if anyone doesn't know, it was one of the greatest plasticene (sp) modelled animation, ever). Most memorable moment: theme tune, "Stay away from that Trapdooooor. Coz there's somethin' down there!!" :D

I'd have to say that Tom & Jerry are my least favorite cartoon of all time. It’s the only cartoon I'm guaranteed to change the channel on. I’m even more likely to leave on the Flintstones, and I hate the Flintstones. This is not to say your not entitled to your opinion (because you are), I just have a different one. :shake: Variety, one of the things that makes this country great. :thumb:

Does anyone remember “Tobor the 8th Man”? This thread just keeps dredging up old cartoons from the depths of my animated mind.

Intentioner, you just reminded me about the moomins to which a funny story is attached. For many years i thought that mormons were moomins and so when my dad told me that all the mormons lived in salt lake city and that the olympics were gonna be there and be on tv i was looking forward to seeing some wierd hippos. Unfortunately i learnt of my confusion and saw no hippos at the winter olympics.

I'm either not as old as some of you guys, or I was too young at the time to remember most of those shows coming out.

Battletech? Not sure if that's the one your thinking of. Was it a live action or not? There was another one (for the Power Rangers generation)similar to it. I don't remember the name, but I can remember the main characters. Give me some more info, let's see if we can remember this.

I remember the turtles. I still have some of their videos! While I haven't watched the show in a long time, maybe I can let my kids enjoy it (once I actually get some, heh).

G.I. Joe I can remember. That was a great show. If anyone knows where you can get the episodes on DVD or VHS, tell me.

I remember them, but I only watched them for the first season or two before I outgrew them. Those shows are not that old, they first aired, what, ten-twelve years ago?

Anyone remember Dink the Dinosaur? It only aired a few times, many years ago, but I used to love it!

Rastor, not sure where you are at, but G.I. Joe is on the Cartoon Network on cable here in the states.

All I really remember is (it's been a few years) it was definatly not live action, and was definatly a drawn cartoon. The story as far as I remember it was like this: Of course it was settled in the future (mechs) when humans created servants for them (three fingered ones, or four, if I remember correctly), but of course things went awry and the servants/clones take over the world. It was in space too not only earth. Now the heroes were of course part of the resistance (small IIRC) with mechs that it seemed in the later part of the show had emotions of them selves (best episode). Now when those mechs went into battle the battlefield became covered with green grids and into a 3d computer made perspective. aaaah nostalgia indeed, pity I don't remember the name.

That's all I know. It aired in Holland when I was 13/14 so that has to be the year 1995/1996 in Holland.

VH-1 has a series called I love the 80s. Boy that brings me back. How about Milli Vanilli? Anyone remember when the record started repeating in one of their concerts? That has to rank up there with one of the hilarious moments I remember in my life.
