    I'm looking at crafting a shield with both moderate fortification & the bashing power/ability. Is this technically even possible and if so did I calculate it out right? Also it is a spiked shield adding another 10 gp to the total for 36,040 gp???

    +2 Heavy Steel Shield of Bashing & Moderate Fortification (DMG 218) (20 gp +36,000 =36,020 gp)

    A shield with this special ability is designed to perform a shield bash. A bashing shield deals damage as if it were a weapon of two size categories larger (a Medium light shield thus deals 1d6 points of damage and a Medium heavy shield deals 1d8 points of damage). The shield acts as a +1 weapon when used to bash. (Only light and heavy shields can have this ability.)

    Moderate transmutation; CL 8th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, bull’s strength; Price +1 bonus. (1000 gp). Fortification: This suit of armor or shield produces a magical force that protects vital areas of the wearer more effectively. When a critical hit or sneak attack is scored on the wearer, there is a chance that the critical hit or sneak attack is negated and damage is instead rolled normally.

    Fortification Type: Light Chance for Normal Damage: 25% Base Price Modifier +1 bonus

    Fortification Type: Moderate Chance for Normal Damage: 75% Base Price Modifier +3 bonus

    Fortification Type: Heavy Chance for Normal Damage: 100% Base Price Modifier +5 bonus

    Strong abjuration; CL 13th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, limited wish or miracle; Price varies (see above).

    Cost looks like this:

    heavy steel shield = 20 gp
    spikes = 20 gp
    +2 enchantment = +2 bonus cost
    bashing property = +1 bonus cost added
    fortification, moderate = +3 bonus cost

    sub total = 40 gp +6 bonus cost of 36,000 for a total of 36,040 gp?????

    The info is found in the 3.5 DMG pages 216-219

    or 64,040 gp for heavy fortification???

    What would be the drawbacks, if any, if I make it a heavy WOODEN shield so a druid could use it? Not that it would really matter but it would drop the cost by 13 gp and weight by 5 lb.

    What would it cost in XP also. I can never figure that out :(

    Sorry, the heavy wooden shield would cost +157 according to page 216 of the 3.5 DMG. Overlooked that
