    Oh, I agree with you for the most part joacqin. The thing is, a credit card is one of the easiest pieces of credit you can get, which is why the interest rate is so high. You may be denied the credit at the electronics/appliance stores because when the interest rate is lower, the requirements are more stringent.

    Also, as I said above, having credit on your credit card doesn't mean you have to pay any interest at all. As long as you pay your bill in full, you do not have any finance charges. So you essentially get up to a month of deferred payment, which is free money.

    Say for example, you bought a A/V reciever and speakers for $1000 right after your last billing cycle. That $1000 dollars stays in the bank (or wherever you have it) for a month gathering interest before you have to actually pay it. So you have a whole month more to enjoy your new reciever and end up the same financially as if you paid for it a month later. Free money. Not a lot, but free nonetheless.

    And who pays for this? The merchant! So you're actually getting a worse deal if you DON'T use a credit card :) Which is why some deep discount places charge you more if you use a credit card vs. cash.
