I used to use CTRL+R when I found out about it...and I managed to wean myself off those for a while..and then I installed Tactics and after the first time I took on Improved Ilyich...I lost it! :p

So yeah...after that particular relapse, it took me about a couple of gaming runs before I got rid of that dirty habit...now I stick with just CTRL+J, CTRL+I if romance is going too slow...and I use CLUAConsole to create a Bag of Holding for me as soon as I leave Chateau Irenicus. I really don't care if its cheating...after I've played the game like 85 times I don't care for the hassle of inventory management...

I've never enabled them, and can't think of any reason why I would.

The only time I've activated them was for a quick way through the final sequence of ascension to see a couple of alternate endings.

I don't activate them but i used gem replication trick once and i will never do that again. Even that small trick killed all the fun of my game and i had to restart. :bang:

I heartily agree, especially if it is something like Firkraag's dungeon after you finish the quest. I just zip right back to the beginning, and it saves me boring walking time.

I never use Ctrl+J. The only breaks you get in the game come from those treks, and I'm not about to eliminate them.

Actually, in the case of Windspear Hills, that's one time ctrl+J GIVES you a break. After the constant battling in Firkraag's dungeon, who wants to fight a bunch of goblins, orcs, ankhegs and wild dogs?

How close am I to a level up? I don't find the walks boring at all.

I don't know about you, but I tend to clear the map before going in. And then there's nothing left to attack me when I come back out.

The outside world type map should respawn enemies at certain points every so often even after you've cleared the map. They are usually so easy though that they don't even bother me.

Starwalker's right. The goblins and orcs and whathaveyou spawn at predetermined spots. I always know where they're going to be, but they can't be avoided by going the most direct route back to the cabin, and it's tedious to fight them after the long haul at Firkraag's. Hence, ctrl+J.

    Tedious to fight?
After finishing Firkraags dungeon, a few measly goblins are barely click-splat. click-splat. click-splat.

Anyway, I tend to use CTRL+R instead of waiting for the ring of regeneration to heal everyone. Might be cheating I guess, but I don't feel like waiting minutes just for them all to be healed, heh.

CTRL+I hasn't worked one single time for me for some reason. A few NPC's might face each other when I hit it, but that's all. They never start to chat, and more often than not, it seems to actually break my romances. Needless to say, I'm avoiding that one like the plague :p

CTRL+J has it's uses, but I don't really use that one much either.

CTRL+Y? Haven't used that one a single time. If I want to cheat through a battle, I'd rather summon my killsword to get the EXP for it aswell

They aren't even click-splat, click-splat for me. I just run my group into the middle of them and let the AI do the work. But then several of the warriors have aggressive default AI's.

I use CTRL J almost 90% of the time...just because I've played the game so many times that I know all the terain like the back of my hand...

I only use CTRL Y on lame enimies later on in the game...like Kolbalds, Hobgoblins, and Gibberlings...you know, the lousy guys that only give you 35 XP or less. Hell, a death spell would take care of an entire army of them...but it would still be a waste of a spell...so I save time and CTRL Y them all.

Most of the time however, I use CLUAConsole:("ExploreArea")...or ("AdvanceRealTime("xxx") to make up the difference of all my CTRL J-ing. :p :rolling:

That's my point. After the dungeon, it's boring to kill goblins. I'd rather just go right to my reward. It's obvious the Firkraag quest (as part of the Paladin stronghold) was designed to be slightly "epic" (damsel in distress, non-stop fighting, legendary foe), so I get why Windspear Hills is so encounter intensive. I'm just sick of killing pissant goblins and orcs by the time I'm done. :p

CTRL+R removes spells? Ah, so that's why Mr F/M got killed so quickly. His buffs were removed.
