Can someone please explain THACO to me? :)

    THAC0 means To Hit Armor Class 0

    so its just the number you must roll with the d20 to hit a monster with 0 AC

    You calculate the rest of the hits and misses from those two numbers

    Say that you have a THAC0 of 13 and the enemy 1 AC
    It would mean that you have to throw a 12 to hit the opponent.

    The higher the AC the worse and the lower the THAC0 the better

    THACO -AC= the number you need to roll to hit a given monster.
    So yes this is not what I would call a sane way of doing this. and To my knowlage no one here will hold you being confused by it against you.

    Still I prefer it over 3e edition rules, couldn't get used to in NWN can't get used to it in Icewind Dale. I think I'm still hooked on Thac0
