I'm not sure if there's a crack for IWD 2 like in Diablo although I don't know why it's important not to use the CD. Also search this forum or the main page for Avarine Decanter to access the genie if you don't have the special editions.

There is a no-CD crack for the game, but I haven't the faintest clue where I downloaded it from. And before anyone thinks I didn't buy the game, I did and still have it, but disc 2 developed a fracture from the inside ring out onto the surface of the disc and so won't read (I've heard of other people having their IWD2 discs break, too.. Methinks Vivendi is using ultra-cheap manufacturing). And since this fracture occured well past the 90-day limited warranty, I practically have to buy the game again to get a replacement from Interplay ($15 USD plus Express post from Canada to the US nearly totals the cost of the game).
Just wanted to make sure that's clear.. I do not support warez or pirating, but I also do not support Interplay's pirating of replacement money for their faulty products.
