    Well ... we inked the deal and got a Jetta Wolfsburg Edition. Nice car, low payment, great interest. Picked it up last night.

    So, my wife goes to the store, and on the way home it refuses to go over 10 miles an hour. Had a nice blow out with the manager, and just took the dang thing back. She's there now waiting to find out what happened.

    So, confess, who cast the cuse on me???? Where did this bad luck come from????

    Ouch. Serious bummer. Whatever you do, make sure that they give you a new car (not ust fix the other one) or tear up the paperwork.
    Good luck.

    The brothers in flame ... both feeling my pain. Cool!

    Yep, every Sunday. God and me are still mates.

    Seriously ... my wife took it to the dealership and they were honestly shocked. When she explained that I didn't go because I was too angry for words, the salesmanager got pale (literally). I have 12 inches and 70 pounds on him I think.

    The mechanic looked it over. If it happens again, we get a new car. We didn't get a new one today because this was the only manual transmission Wolfsburg in the area.

    I may live on an island but this island has as much coast line as the united states of america . There are pleanty of places to drive. I just don't see why you can't use public transport. You save money, and you save our ozone layer. You save two birds with one stone (sorry it was a poor attempt at a joke :) ).

    @RotKU: Part of the problem with public transport in the States is that most cities weren't design with it in mind, so it gets patched in as an afterthought. Also, Mat mentioned that his wife will be going to a different city every day. What public transit we have is overwhelmingly focused at getting people from their suburban homes into a metropolitan center, not going between cities. I'm a big proponent of public transportation and I take it every chance I get. Accessibility was my one criteria when Velcro and I were looking for a place to live.

    @Mat: Do you name your cars? If so, I have a suggestion for the new addition (assuming it stays). To me, stick shift cars are male, not the usual female. Wolfsburg -> Wolverine -> Logan! :roll: OK, OK, so I'm a nut case...

    @Rally ... Yes, you're a nutcase! :lol:

    We normally don't name them, but its not a bad idea. The whole stick shift being a male car thing gives me the willies though. I used to feel masculine with my hand on the knob. Now I feel funny ... like that one time at camp ....
