Gosh Mathethais you are getting more and more rightwing by the minute, I thought you were a minister? Been spending too much time together with Shralp? ;)

And atleast I have atleast as much garbage on swedish political leaders but as no one but other swedes have any idea who they are it is pretty pointless to trash them. American presidents now, they are open game and everyone have an opinion.

[IMG] Anyway, support him or not, you have to admit he has problems giving speeches. I don't think that makes him stupid though. I can blow IQ tests out of the water and figure things out in seconds that take many people hours, but I still make dumb comments with embarrassing regularity. There's many a slip 'twixt cup and lip.

I'm glad someone finally gets it. It's possible to find Bush's accidental humour hilarious and still respect the decisions he makes in office...

If only everyone who hadn't liked Clinton would have 'felt free [enough] to leave'... one can only wish.

I guess an economic plan that results in the elimination of the national debt is not very desireable considering the speed with which our current pres. is trying to outdo Reagan in spending our tax dollars.

How one can compare a persons sudden inability to find a word they are looking for to anothers attempts to revise the grammar and vocabulary of the English language is beyond my capacity to grasp.

(I guess we shouldn't misunderestimate the political influence of secretaries in Wash. ;) )

    Scamp,

You would have had to change the name of the country to the United Socialist States of America.

    Scarampella;

I was close to leaving! If algore had made it into the oval office, you'd be speaking to the newest Australian on the block! :p  :D

Seriously though, Regan spent, but the economy boomed right when Clinton got into office. Is that the magic of Bill, or a delayed effect from teh Trickle Down theory????

things that make you go "Hmmmmm"

Definitely not the trickle down theory!

The only place money trickles is into overseas accounts and CEO's pockets. Which are way too big if you ask me.

Back in 1990 I left the country and moved to Spain. Although not the only reason for moving, I was thoroughly disgusted with the politics that had taken place over the previous decade and was definitely far from a proud American. Ollie North pushed me over the top. The worst thing about him was the way the Rep's started calling him a hero and the public lay there like a deaf dog. I was disgusted with Bush senior who seems like a Rhodes scholar compared to his son. Somewhere I've got a book of Bush-isms from 10 yrs ago.

Seeing one's country from another is an eye-opening experience I would suggest everyone try sometime.

On a more serious note, though, I will have to agree with several posters on this one. Getting tongue-twisted mid-speech or forgetting the odd word - especially considering the number of speeches this man gives - does not make one an idiot. Happens to the best of us. Maybe I'm being naive here, but last I checked Harvard did not award MBAs to simians...

If his oratory skills are so bad, how come he did better than Gore at the debates? Maybe superior speech-writers?...

Although Bush does have his...lackings, he's not all bad. Oh, come on. Ah, never mind.

PS: My 200th post - yes!
