    Hmmm, if all my monitors are off, then they're all off the same way. Using my laptop, desktop, job #1 computer and job #2 computer have given me the same result. Three of the machines have Radeon controllers, one has an Nvidia card.
    I've gotten the same results each time for both dark and light schemes.
    There's my non-scientific survey :p

    Could be that your own colour perception is slightly different than most people's... the colour used is in the vicinity of very, very light green so it wouldn't take much to see it as such. If you can make a screenshot it'd be interesting to see what the colours look like.

    Ok. Messed around with the settings on my work PC(not messing with my own PC, don't want trouble there) and the color did change a bit. Not AS ugly. More beige/mustard than puke-green. Still like the dark better though.

    A screenshot wouldn't do any good because it would still display differently on your own hardware.

    Anyone interested about information on calibrating their TVs or monitors should take a look at greyscale and color calibration for dummies. It's easiest and most accurate if you buy a cheap colorimeter, but you can do a decent job of it by eye with the right test patterns.

    BTA, at least it'd give me an idea if their settings were off because higher contrast, hue and such is visible simply due to comparison of my own view vs. the screenshot. That is, the screenshot colours shouldn't look the same on my monitor as the skin does.

    Is that true? I suppose it could be partially true; I was thinking that a screenshot takes the values of the pixels as their true color before they are adjusted by the display driver (i.e. they would be the same colors you set in the skin). That is certainly true if the adjustments were made in the monitor and not the display driver...

    Some of the fobt colours that work on the dark background don't work on the light (i.e. the pale ones).

    Hm... that looks exactly as it should - no green though.

    Makes sense... I just know that a lot of the game screenshots people sent in over the years had colours where it was obvious that for instance the contrast was set way too high. But as you said, it's likely that this was only in instances where the colours were manipulated on the driver level.

    Yes, I changed pretty much all of them that I could. Some I can't easily change because they're not skin-dependent but hardcoded in the profiles instead (like all the titles below usernames). Did you find any others besides those?

    Yeah, the default colors (or colours for our European friends) are quite nice in my opinion. And since these are the colors I've grown accustomed to over some 8 years using this website, there's a certain amount of nostalgia that they create for me. I experimented with the light colors for a few days, but ultimately, it doesn't feel like BoM without the blue.

    **EDIT**

    Okay, I didn't realize that there was a new skin called default, so I guess disregard what I said previously. I'll leave it in the post, because I I don't mind sharing my opinion about the BoM traditional look.

    Default, which I'm looking at currently is nice. I prefer it to light. Looks a little more "modern." I'll probably try it out for a few days.

    I've tried all 3 skins now, and am now back to the orignal blue, for good I expect. It looks the best to me, by far. Even the Sorcerers Place Forums link on the top left of every page looks rather out of place with the other skins. The colors just don't blend into the site as naturally. This isn't the only link/icon/etc that I noticed this about.

    I've never had a problem reading whitish text on a light blue background. It's perfectuly usable for me, and it looks the best, so it's the winner in my book.

    I too have tried all three, and I think I'm going with light. It's grown on me. The default with the white background isn't so easy on the eyes. Like Marceror, I didn't realize there even was a "default" style until Tal mentioned it... although I do like the new icons for displaying posts...
