    Just came here to post this, I see I'm too late, heh. I wonder if it'll have any impact in terms of Bush actually losing any popularity.

    But what's that nonsense in the article about Bin Laden admitting he ordered the 9/11 attacks for the first time? He said he did in a video like 2 years ago - and I remember it got next to zero publicity in the US then. I guess most US reporters were more concerned with blaming Saddam back then than to listen to Bin Laden...

    No, it won't make any difference. The Republicans will put their spin on it, and the Democrats will put their own spin on.

    Basically, Bush supporters will nod their heads in agreement with whatever line their fed, and the Dems will have to be satisfied that Kerry's group is telling them the truth, even if the the Republicans are too dense to see it. :p (Flame suit on :borg: )

    Well... that torpedos my belief that he was dead, rotting in some cave in Tora Bora. Oh well... guess the US forces should have made sure they had him, before getting diverted by Saddam.

    Well, it isn't dated or anything. So he could be long dead. I doubt it though. I think this tape should bring to the foreground Bush's failures in the War on Terror.

    Actually, depending on how the Bush camp plays this, it could even turn to their advantage (patriotic chest-thumping ala "no one is going to threaten US!"). Which, I wouldn't be surprised, was probably bin Laden's plan when he made that video. Who better to lead the US for another 4 years than an incompetent president who didn't even accomplish count #1 on the list - capturing bin Laden, the man responsible for 9/11 (oh, wait, there's Saddam - close enough for the majority of the population). I'm sure Osama's going to drink a toast to Bush's health if he wins again.

    I think it is a win-win situation for Al-Qaeda, if Bush wins there will be four more years of recruits streaming to swell the ranks of fanatics and every piece of terror propaganda Bin Laden and his ilk have spouted to paint the US as the great devil may just come true.

    If Kerry wins the terrorist can say that they managed to scare the American people into changing their leadership and so on.

    Actually, I just watched Hannity and Colmes yesterday, and Hannity kept spinning it so that Osama was "endorsing" Kerry and that America shouldn't stand for it. I hate Hannity.

    Actually, it's brilliant for Osoma to endorse Kerry. That will make more Americans vote for Bush. Osoma will lose his #1 recruiting officer if Bush loses this election. Pretty smart on ObL part, if you ask me.
