Wow that was a surreal moment trying to figure out what "the pyramid" was. I smell a quick mod coming... Anyway, I've never seen that bug and it's the first I've ever even heard of it. And speaking of simulacra that outlive their creators, I've seen that with Tanova several times too.

And BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO on spoilers, people. This is a thread maintained by someone going through the game for the first time. Keep a lid on it.

Bah, that's not a spoiler! Everyone knows that! The spoiler would be telling everyone that Lilacor impregnates Mazzy. Now THAT would be totally unacceptable, telling people that that happens. Terrible thing to do.

    Yikes!

    What have I started? :(

Sorry, HB - I hope this topic doesn't turn into a "fake spoiler" thread.

Far, far too late for apologies now, Splunge. Might as well spill the beans on the archwizard Tim, too.

More action? Pulease. Female elves, in addition to being creatures of ethereal beauty, are apparently also quite sluttish in the BG2-verse.

None of which Harbourboy will get to see, since he's playing a female lead. The game is heavily biased toward male PCs, which makes good marketing sense and fairly lousy RPG sense. How have you felt about your woman's ability to interact with others, HB?

(Like how I got this back OT?)

Harbourboy is sharing his thoughts with us as he progresses through the game for the first time. Anything he's referred to himself is fair game for discussion. No spoilers please.

At any rate, if anything, just ...

... stick to the topic itself please.

    ...riiiight...I've completly lost track now.

So where are we at the moment HB? Has Arya become a Kensai yet? I'm very curios to see what sort of damage you can do backstabbing with your CF!!

ANYWAY, we are on that island that the Shadow Thieves took us to. We're done with the little town and have now ventured up into the Asylum to try and finally find Imoen. But all we found were a load of loonies, had to watch stacks of movies, had to fight in a dream sequence, and now seem to be in yet another dungeon-like setting where we have to find a way out (why do the bad guys always give you a chance to escape instead of just killing you outright?).

Oh yeah, and we now have 6 people in the party again, although Imoen seems severely underpowered compared to Nalia now.

AND, Arya has lost a precious point of Dexterity and seems to have had her innate abilities stripped. Great.

On the plus side, Imoen has just sat down and learned most of the scrolls that Nalia has been carrying around for her for ages so that has provided a big XP boost. Arya is now only a few thousand points away from regaining her Kensai skills. Yay.

Oh well, time to explore and see if we can't find an exit somewhere........

That's why you're supposed to go get her ASAP!

I think Bodhi lets you 'atempt' to escape just to see how powerful you really are. Heads up, but not to spoil anything...you get a really cool special ability towards the end of the dungeon. :rolling:

And your reason for not letting HB discover this on his own?

Well, he was sad that he lost some of his Special Abilities, I was just mentioning it so that he would feel a little bit better.

What can I say...I'm a nice guy. :thumb:

At least I didn't say what it is! :rolling:

Dude, that's still a spoiler, like telling someone right before they walk out of a room "there's a surprise waiting for you behind that door, but I'm not going to tell you what it is;" although one doesn't know precisely what's going to happen, it still detracts a whole lot from from the surprise.

What part of *NO SPOILERS* do you guys not understand?

    @ Kitrax - BOOOOO!!!

Anyway HB, with 3 characters with thieving skills, are you planning on keeping all of them, or do you think you might dump one (or more)? (Well, not Arya, of course.)

Good question, Splunge. I guess Nalia and Imoen are there more as wizards than thieves. Their thief skills just mean that they can fire a bow when required. So a more pertinent question would be whether I need both wizards and I'm going to put off that question until after we get out of this place. By then I would have had a chance to see how useful they are working together.

I would suggest that you keep Immy, and dump Nalia. IIRC, Immy's thieving skills are a little better. Not to mention that your PC grew up with her. If your only reason for keeping Nalia is her mage spells, the by all means, go get Aerie! Her nice selection of cleric and mage spells is always welcome in my parties. Oh, and on a side note, Nalia is 10 times more annoying than Aerie...I'd rather have a frail elf with some serious baggage, than an arrogant noble who thinks she's otherwise. :rolling:

    @ Kitrax - BOOOOO, again!!!
Stop offering advice and spoilers. At teh end of the day this is a thread for HB to tell us how he is managing finding things out for the first time... Not getting the jaded assessments of us older hacks.

[IMG] Boo! Boo! This is awful! Boo ...

Well actually, after looking at this thread entire, Harbourboy doesn't seem to mind the odd kernel of advice on tactics or the NPCs.

Dropping a future plot twist, an event that has yet to happen, or a character yet to be seen or fought, is probably a definite no-no though. Of course, Harbourboy has as much say in this as anybody else.
