Anyone played the HoF mode for BG (from the downloads section). I've never had the expansion for IWD so i don't know what exactly it does.

    Anyone wanna enlighten me?

It gives all the enemies either two or three times as many HPs. You also get more XP for killing them. Don't know if they leave behind any better items though.

[slightly off topic] Is there a HOF mode for BG II does anyone know? [end of slightly off topic]

so, if i were to play this with a solo f/t for example, would it be worth removing the exp cap and installing the higher level rules mods?

Ohter than the increased hp, are the enemies at all harder?

It is written in the download section - they got baseHPx3 + 50, IIRC, -5 THAC0 and -5 AC.

What's the point in the X-cap remover? In BG2 including ToB, the Cap is 8,000,000 experience... The best way is to pass BG 1, one more time to get the Tomes and Manuals for your STR, DEX and CONST, the most important for Fighter, Thief and Paladin (or dual)...

Hmm, i'll never look at a diseased gibberling in the same way again. Started a game with HoF mode installed, with a f/t, with the intention of soloing. Str 18, Dex 18, Cons 18, Wis 11, Int 11, Char 11. ** in long sword and bow.
Purchased studded leather and splint mail, helmet, large shield and bastard sword.

Didn't have a problem with the two assasins in candlekeep. But got totally whooped by ONE diseased gibberling on the first screen after candlekeep.

Think i might do the old export thing and buy a bow in candlekeep (i tried avoiding the gibberling and was going to buy a bow at FAI, but the mage there absolutely owned me when i got there).

Backstab the buggers, dude! You're a f/t. Just keep trying to hide until you do, then backstab em. Also, you could just hide and sneak past the mage in front of the FAI, buy a bow, then own him (although it probably would make a difference)!

There is very nice way of geting this one (and other mages).
Go to the door. When he'll start to cast, enter the inn. Go back, and so on until he'll run out of spells :D
