    The Claw is NOT for Imoen. I have selected 3 NPCs that will not be affected by the -2 CON, and one of them will be wearing the Claw.

    Yeah, a 25% penalty on Imoen's HP is not worth the bonuses. Kivan is a much better choice because he won't suffer any penalties (except the Save vs. Death, but that's unavoidable no matter who you put it on).

    That is, of course, assuming you have Kivan in your party. If Imoen is your archer at the back of the party (who hardly ever gets into melee), the Claw is a great choice for her. Trust me, I know from experience.

    Being in the back doesn't protect you from everything, and there are more than just Kivan (who IS in Klorox's party) who suffer no HP penalty from the Claw. I'm sure it works fine on Imoen too, but I wouldn't want to make that sacrifice.

    Nothing protects you from everything. I'd put other items on my tanks in that slot rather than the Claw, but hey... All I can say is that it's worked out fine for my party.
