    I must put in a word for the Blade.

    The only character I actually finished Both BG1 and BG2 with was a halfelven Bard/Blade.

    It demands a bit of practice but correctly used they can be dancing death.
    My blade had most of the kills and was very useful since he could help take down magical defences and then boost (tenser, stoneskin, blur and offensive spin) and whack around.

    besides,I think a bard fits very nicely int the story. I mean, he has been growing up in a library reading about all those places and adventures.

    You should realize "pal" that these things you mentioned above are not much for use in BG2(excepted the skald's song, which is very useful). If your character is meant to survive the upcoming threats and yet to be a useful addition to the group, then he must have time "for AC levels and such other trivia"!

    And YES! I'm a powergamer; but never played a half orc barbarian before...

    ...and I'm sorry that you lost 50 posts...they look great in my record :p (just a joke)

    A powergamer should not be using a bard for that is of folly pure,
    For those that use such character class there is no gamer truer.

    [​IMG] In BG1, the bard was funny as hell! Now he can´t stand a chance against some things that you meet.
    (In BG1, I finished the game with a bard. Really fun!)

    Heckle me if you will, but the Blade is a strong class. The def spin AC-10 is something you can build a strategy on...plus hitting with max damage for the off spin can lay on a hurting if you already have someone tanking...there is nothing wrong with Bards although in my opinion, the joke is on the Jester.
