Argh! Bugs! *cackle*

    [​IMG] Hmmm...something wierd with my Torment game. At this moment in time, The Nameless One is Fighter4, Mage5 and Rogue 3. I've just levelled up to another level of Mage, to get to Level 6. I'm in the Dead Nations.

    Now here's the problem, when I clicked "Level Up", I get the screen saying this:
    1 Characteristic Point Gained
    +1 Intelligence point gained from Specialization.
    4 Hit Points gained.
    Spell memorization capability has increased.

    So I click "Accept", and a window pops up with the Lady Of Pain image on it, with a blank part, and "Cancel" on it.
    There is now no way I can get out of the Level Up screen without Alt+F4-ing. :( Help me out guys, is there some patch I missed?

    (Btw, this has never happened through my 2 other run-thru's of the game.)

    I had this problem a day or two ago, so I decided to just play on and sort of forgot that I could level up and went out of the area (I think it was Warrens of Thought) and when I remembered again it worked just fine. Strange, I guess it's just one of those bugs that almost never occur (or do they?) and no one bothered to fix them.

    Take off the "Gauntlets of Teeth" (or other cursed item). You need a Remove Curse spell or get Mebbeth to cast it on you.

    Hrm... Actually now that you've mentioned it, I did have that cursed ring removed... It just might work.

    That's really strange, as I have always been able to level up just fine while having cursed items equipped.

    Me too, but some people have problems with cursed weapons, which I don't use. The rings have never caused a problem for me.

    Ok Gopher, you have the 4CD version with no patch applied? This bug is fixed in the official patch;
    "- The bug where a blank dialog box would pop up when trying to advance levels has been fixed."

    Yea, but the idea is to teach people that everything they need can be found on SP, no need to ask for every patch. Patches for every game on SP are in that game's respective Miscellanea subsection on SP.

    [​IMG] I just posted a reply like this on another thread here, but I may as well post again...

    I think it's to do with having a cursed item equipped that isn't meant for your character class (for example, a mage with the Gauntlets of Teeth). When the NO changes class, but can't unequip a cursed weapon / item, he'll say "The damn thing's cursed". It shouldn't be a problem as long as you cast Remove Curse before you level up.

    Of course, I may be completely wrong on this, but it's worth a try.
