    Hello Guys.
I just bought a 2003 Mazda6 and was thinking of getting a moonroof/sunroof installed.I foolishly let the salesman talk me into installing one instead of waiting to find one with it already in it.
Anyway I had always heard they leak if they are not installed by the factory.Does anyone know if this just an urban myth or does this really happen.
They plan to do the work this thursday so i realy have to make up my mind soon.I do like the car how it is but would love to get the moonroof.I am just afraid it will leak and ruin one of the only cars I was realy happy to buy.
    Thanks for the input.

If it's a powered moonroof, it will not leak.

If it's a manual one, it could after a few years.

Is a moon roof or a sun roof? A sun roof is like a metal and the same color as the car. A moon roof is a window/glass. I know moon comes powered but im not sure about sun. But I agree with Rastor, the manual ones are barely used anymore, all i see is power. and i don't hear much good news about them.

It is a powered moonroof.I tried to search the web for info but it seems this is a closely gaurded secret of the auto industry.
    Thanks though.
I have gotten some mixed reports so it still seems unclear what the real story is.
I think I will just go for it.Dam the torpedoes as they say.
